1. Our commitment
Sensory Visionaries aims to make its website, information and remote services usable by disabled people, including people with sight loss. Accessibility is treated as part of service design rather than an optional extra.
2. Reasonable adjustments
We will consider reasonable changes to the way we provide information or services where a disabled person would otherwise be placed at a substantial disadvantage. What is reasonable depends on the circumstances and the nature of the service.
3. Website accessibility aims
Clear headings and logical reading order. Strong contrast and readable text. Keyboard usable navigation and controls. Meaningful alternative text for informative images. Forms with clear labels and instructions. Content that can be enlarged without unnecessary loss of information or function. Avoidance of unnecessary visual clutter and inaccessible text embedded in images where practical.
4. Remote service adjustments
Telephone instead of video where appropriate. Additional verbal explanation of written information. Accessible electronic formats where reasonably practicable. Allowing a supporter to join with the customer’s agreement. Reasonable additional time or communication adjustments where needed.
5. Reporting a barrier
If you experience an accessibility barrier or need information in a different accessible format, contact contact@sensoryvisionaries.com and explain what you need. We will consider the request and respond as soon as reasonably practicable.
6. Continuous improvement
Accessibility will be reviewed as the website and service develop. Known limitations should be stated honestly rather than claiming full conformance that has not been tested.
7. How we design for accessibility
We aim to use clear page structure, meaningful headings, descriptive links and buttons, sufficient colour contrast, readable text, keyboard-operable controls and text alternatives for meaningful images. Important information should not depend on colour alone. We also aim to avoid unnecessary visual clutter and to make forms understandable, with clear labels, instructions and error information.
8. Assistive technology and magnification
Our services are particularly relevant to people with sight loss. We therefore consider use with screen readers, browser zoom and magnification, keyboard navigation, mobile devices and common accessibility settings. We aim for content to remain usable when text is enlarged and for controls to have a visible keyboard focus.
9. Documents and alternative formats
Some documents or third-party content may present accessibility barriers. If information we provide is not accessible to you, contact us and tell us the format or adjustment that would help. Where reasonably practicable, we will provide the same information in an accessible alternative rather than requiring a person to use an inaccessible format.
10. Third-party platforms
Some parts of a customer journey may rely on third-party services, for example payment, booking, email or form technology. We cannot control every change made by a third-party supplier, but we will take accessibility into account when selecting and reviewing services and will consider reasonable alternatives where a barrier is identified.
11. Testing, known issues and improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing process rather than a one-off statement. We will review important customer journeys, including navigation, forms and payment routes, and address identified barriers according to their impact. Where we become aware of a significant unresolved issue, we will consider whether it should be described publicly together with an available workaround.
12. Standards and legal context
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) as an important technical reference and aim to work towards WCAG 2.2 Level AA where reasonably practicable. Our accessibility duties also sit within the Equality Act 2010, including the duty to make reasonable adjustments where applicable. This statement does not remove or limit any statutory rights.
