These terms apply when an individual consumer buys a Sensory Visionaries service for purposes wholly or mainly outside their trade, business or profession.
1. Our services
Our individual services may include Ask a VRS, remote vision rehabilitation assessment and recommendations, individual membership, practical information and other support expressly agreed with you. Services are for adults aged 18 and over and are UK-focused and delivered in English unless we agree otherwise.
2. Professional scope
Sensory Visionaries provides practical sight-loss rehabilitation support. We do not provide medical diagnosis or treatment, emergency services, statutory eligibility decisions or hearing assessments. Our remote service does not provide outdoor route training or hands-on long-cane training. We may discuss indoor safety, functional strategies, equipment, lighting and contrast, technology, communication and cane purposes within professional scope.
3. How the contract is formed
The website describes the service available. Before purchase you should be shown the main service characteristics, price, payment arrangements, relevant duration or renewal terms and cancellation information. A contract is formed when we accept the order and provide confirmation, normally after successful payment. Your confirmation, the relevant service description, these terms and the Consumer Cancellation, Refund and Membership Terms form the contract.
4. Ask a VRS
Ask a VRS is for one clearly defined, non-urgent practical issue. A qualified Vision Rehabilitation Specialist reviews the information and provides up to five tailored written recommendations where appropriate. It is not a full assessment or unlimited advice service. The response is normally sent by email within the timeframe stated on the website. If the question is outside scope or we cannot add meaningful specialist value, we may decline it and refund the price paid.
5. Standard remote assessment
A standard remote assessment covers the agreed priorities and includes the remote discussion and written recommendations described at purchase. It is normally delivered by telephone or video. Because it is remote, not every environmental, mobility, medical or safety factor can be directly observed. Broader or more complex work may require a separate quotation or referral.
6. Individual membership
Membership provides the benefits described on the membership page for the plan purchased, including the stated level of Ask a VRS access and resource access. It is not unlimited casework, emergency support or a substitute for an assessment. Monthly and annual renewal and cancellation arrangements are set out before purchase and in our Consumer Cancellation, Refund and Membership Terms.
7. Your responsibilities
- Provide information that is accurate and reasonably complete.
- Tell us about relevant changes that could affect the support requested.
- Do not carry out an activity you consider unsafe.
- Follow manufacturer instructions for equipment and seek appropriate medical, emergency or specialist help where an issue falls outside our scope.
8. Recommendations and third-party products
Recommendations are based on the information available at the time. They do not guarantee that a product, technique, app or environmental change will suit every person or remain suitable indefinitely. Third-party products and services have their own availability, specifications, warranties and terms.
9. Prices and payment
The price displayed for the selected service at checkout applies unless there is an obvious error. Quoted work is charged at the price and scope agreed in writing. Payments may be handled by a secure third-party payment provider. We do not ask you to send card details by ordinary email.
10. Cancellation and early performance
Your statutory cancellation rights and our membership cancellation arrangements are explained in the Consumer Cancellation, Refund and Membership Terms. Where you ask us to begin a service during a statutory cancellation period, we will obtain any express request or acknowledgement required by law before relying on early performance rules.
11. Safeguarding and emergencies
We are not an emergency service. If there is an immediate risk of serious harm, use the appropriate emergency or safeguarding route. We may share information without consent where this is lawful and necessary, including in appropriate safeguarding, vital-interest or legal circumstances.
12. Intellectual property
Personalised reports and recommendations are supplied for your personal use and may be shared legitimately with people involved in your support. Sensory Visionaries retains copyright and other intellectual property rights in its underlying templates, methods, resource content, training material and proprietary systems unless expressly agreed otherwise.
13. Complaints
If you are dissatisfied, contact contact@sensoryvisionaries.com or use our Complaints Policy. Using the complaints process does not affect your statutory rights.
14. Liability and consumer rights
We provide consumer services with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. We are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss caused solely by materially inaccurate or withheld information, use of advice outside its stated scope, or independent acts of third parties, except where the law provides otherwise.
15. Accessibility
If a service or contractual communication is not accessible to you, tell us what adjustment or alternative format would help. We will consider reasonable adjustments appropriate to the service.
16. Ending or suspending a service
We may suspend or end a service for serious misuse, threats, unlawful conduct, material non-payment, unmanaged safety risk or where continuing would require work outside our professional scope. We will deal fairly with prepaid services not supplied and statutory rights remain unaffected.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers retain any mandatory rights about where proceedings may be brought within the UK.
18. Changes
We may update these terms for future purchases. We will not retrospectively remove rights already accrued under an existing consumer contract.
