Choose the method that fits the information

1. Improve the lighting first

Position task lighting so it illuminates the page without shining directly into your eyes or creating glare.

2. Try the right level of magnification

Large print, a suitable magnifier or magnification on a phone or tablet may help. More magnification is not always better because it reduces how much can be seen at once.

3. Use your phone to read text aloud

Built-in accessibility features and text recognition can read printed information aloud. Practise first with non-sensitive information.

4. Ask for an accessible format

Organisations may be able to provide large print, electronic documents or another accessible format that works better for you.

5. Create a system for important documents

Separate urgent correspondence from information to keep, and use clearly marked folders or an accessible digital filing system.
